Docgen – Inheritance-driven Document Generator

A Django system for creating tailored, printable documents from reusable templates and inherited YAML data.

Docgen separates reusable identity and experience data from the choices that make each document specific. A parent-child merge model lets resumes and cover letters inherit a common source of truth, then override only what changes for a role. Reusable HTML/CSS templates turn the resolved data into consistent, printable documents.

The project is closed-source, but it is still actively used and developed.
